Quiz Team Small Group - For Kids 1st-6th grade.....Small Groups.....Fellowship Between Kids and Parents.....Bible Study.....All In One!!! 

 

 

 

Countryside Quiz Team Small Group Study for Kids - Book of Matthew - "Go and Make Disciples"

 

The Nazarene Church has a fantastic program of Bible Study and Quizzing for kids in the 1^st-6^th grade.  Our district has about 25 churches and 200 kids participating.  Last year, we ran a small pilot to understand the workings.  This year, we are hoping to expand our program to full-fledged participation in both Red and Blue Levels.

 

Who:

• Kids in 1^st-6^th grade
• Kids that can participate the majority of the time– looking for at least 80% participation as making up material will be difficult (plus the church will be purchasing a study guide for each child)
• Kids who really want to dig into the Bible
• Kids should be able to write words in “fill-in-the-blanks” (may be difficult for brand new 1^st graders – we’ll have the words on a screen for them to copy)

 

When and what do we do:

• Sunday nights beginning in September
• 6:00-6:30 (with all kids) – cover the basic overall lesson from Matthew
• 6:30-7:00 (break into Red Level 1^st-3^rd grade and Blue 4^th-6^th grade) small group study digging into the Scripture
• During week – asking parents to review questions for 30 mins with quizzer

 

Special Events (optional but a chance for additional church fellowship)

• Construction of Quiz Box – building a wooden box and decorating it
• A monthly invite to lunch at the Younkman’s after church for socializing and some fun quiz-related games (usually the week before the Saturday quiz)
• 4 or 5 District Quiz Competitions – dates are TBD (Oct and later), but generally a couple of hours on a Saturday morning
• Special events of Quiz Team vs. the Pastoral Staff for review

 

Leadership
